Install a casino server

Step 2 of 6 On a separate Windows, macOS or Linux computer

Make the installation USB

The USB contains Ubuntu Server. LGD downloads after Ubuntu is installed.

Download the ISO below to the computer. It is for ordinary 64-bit Intel or AMD PCs, both servers and stations. Once prepared, the same USB stick can be used for the server and every other compatible station.

I am making the USB on Windows
  1. Download the Windows x64 version of Rufus and run the downloaded .exe file.
  2. Insert the USB stick. Select it in Rufus under Device; check both its name and capacity.
  3. Click SELECT and open the downloaded ubuntu-24.04.5-live-server-amd64.iso file.
  4. Click START. If asked, choose ISO Image mode and allow any required files to download.
  5. Confirm erasing the correct USB stick. Wait for READY, then safely eject it.
I am making the USB on Mac or Linux
  1. Install balenaEtcher for the computer you are using. Choose macOS ARM64 for an Apple M-series Mac, or macOS x64 for an Intel Mac.
  2. Open Etcher → Flash from file → select the downloaded Ubuntu ISO.
  3. Select target → choose your USB stick by its name and capacity.
  4. Flash! → confirm with your system password and wait for writing and validation to finish. Eject the USB stick.

ARM64 above refers to the Etcher application on your Mac. The Ubuntu ISO for the destination Intel / AMD PC remains amd64.
